2006/7/3
Agricultural, forestry and fisheries production value in the first six months of this year reached VND 85.6 trillion (in comparison with 1994’s prices), up 3.8% against the same period last year.
Specifically, agricultural production value increased by 3%; forestry by 0.8% and fisheries by 7.3%.
The poor growth is caused by the prolonged cold spell in the early winter-spring rice crop in the northern region which affected the rice output; floods in the central region and the Mekong river delta; diseases in rice in some southern provinces and the widespread foot-and mouth disease.
In addition, Chanchu storm caused severe consequences in human lives and property, directly affecting the catching of fisheries. |
