Harbin (East China city) will fully advance three projects about ecological garden constructions: urban afforesting, suburban afforesting and ecological garden construction. Harbin has planted 1 million trees this year, which makes urban greenbelts newly-increase 650 hectares and per capita greenery space reach 6.48 square meters. 

It is reported, Harbin will stress on afforesting 158 projects in the city zone this year; the per capita public greenery space will reach 6.48 square meters; the greenbelt coverage rate of urban area will be up to 32.1%. Harbin’s government will carry on the following activities recently: building north bank dike greenbelts of Song Hua River and newly-increasing 86.7 hectares greenery space; implementing the second stage of engineering construction of scenic spot of Sun Island and newly-increasing 93.7 hectares greenbelts; continuing to afforesting coastwise area of Ma Jia Gou and starting up to afforest seacoast of Xing Yu Gou; newly afforesting Hu Lan River’s bank and newly-increasing  18.7 hectares greenery space; building Water Garden, Pine and Cypress Ecological Garden, Lu You Garden, Yellow River Garden and newly-increasing 75.5 hectares greenbelts; newly-increasing 55.01 hectares greenery space in either side of urban railways; building 64.85 hectares roadway greenbelts; building 255.54 hectares garden and community courtyard greenery space to optimize inhabited environments.

The suburban afforesting of Harbin has to achieve to 666.67 hectares and the forestry coverage to 7.4% to make city have a better atmosphere. Some relevant departments will implement strict control on examination and approval of trees. The transplant of tress must be clear the transplanted place, the survival rate, accountability people, unite and guarantee the survival rate after the project is completed.
