Woodworkers wishing to promote their products at a major public event are being sought by the organisers of this year's Edinburgh Treefest festival.

The popular event, which attracted over 11,000 people last year, is being held again in Inverleith Park, Edinburgh, (across from the Botanic Gardens) on Sat & Sun 12th -13th June.

A special development for 2004 is a new 'Wood Market' which will provide a showcase for a wide range of forest product businesses ranging from saw millers, furniture makers, basket weavers and wood craftsmen to wine and fungi producers.

The festival will also host axe throwers, horse-loggers and chainsaw demonstrations, as well as crafts, activities, and refreshments for the public.

Iain Laidlaw of Forestry Commission Scotland said:

"Edinburgh Treefest is massively popular and the new Wood Market provides a brilliant way for woodworkers to promote their products directly to the public. It's also a great way to get feedback from their customers face to face, and the networking opportunites are obvious too."
