84 Lumber is closing three locations this month, two in California and one in Florida. A store in Modesto, Calif., will be shuttered because of a lack of housing starts, according to VP marketing and public relations Jeff Nobers, and the Auburn, Calif., unit was a former Lumberjack store purchased in 2002.
“Auburn was the more of a big-box operation,” Nobers told Home Channel News. “It was acquired by us during the Payless Cashways bankruptcy and in reality was just not the type of store format for us.”
