(11 December 2009) Business activity on the northern and eastern German softwood lumber markets has continued to slow in the last few weeks. Besides seasonal reasons, manufacturers are also attributing the development to customers depleting their stocks. As with other wood products, lumber buyers are currently doing what they can to get through the turn of the year with the lowest stocks possible. The already last-minute nature of receipts of orders has correspondingly become even more pronounced.
